It's my first time to try the Maybelline Fit Me Concealer. I've tried the Fit Me Liquid Foundation a few years ago and I liked it. So, when I saw this product at Watsons just a few days ago, I did not hesitate in purchasing it.
It comes in a small, lightweight tube, which contains 6.8 mL (.23 FL. OZ.) of product. It's not at all bulky so, it won't take up too much space in your makeup kit.
Again, I got this from Watsons and it retails for Php 299.
For those who are particular with product ingredients, just check the photos above. :)
This product comes with a doe-foot applicator. I personally like it when a concealer comes with a doe-foot applicator because it's more sanitary and it makes it easier for me to apply it on my face.
According to the Maybelline website, this concealer is available in 6 different shades. The shade that I got is 25 Medium Moyen.
Here's a swatch of the product:
Now, let's move on to the product review. I will talk about the scent, coverage, consistency, lasting power and all the aspects that I usually consider in choosing a concealer.
Scent. I am not a fan of makeup products with strong, sharp, lingering scents. Good thing the Fit Me Concealer doesn't have a pungent smell. It just gives off a very mild scent, which eventually goes away once the product sets on your skin.
Consistency. This product has a pretty decent consistency; not too thick, but not too watery either. I like that it's oil-free and wax-free because it doesn't make my skin look shiny after application. It dries up quickly as well. It's also very easy to blend. I just used my ring finger and it blended like a dream.
Coverage: It has a light to medium coverage. I only applied one layer to my dark circles and it gave me the kind of coverage that I wanted. It did not completely conceal my eyebags, but it did brighten up the area. You can, however, build up the coverage and apply another layer. Just don't go crazy and put on tons of layers. If you apply more than two, I think it would look cakey already.
However, I don't think this is the answer for those who have hyperpigmentations like acne scars and dark spots. This concealer is just not thick enough to cover such problem areas. It works well in covering minor blemishes and lightening dark under-eye circles, though.
Also, if you have dry, flaky skin, I suggest you apply moisturizer first before using this product as it tends to magnify the dry patches.
Lasting Power. I did not apply an eye cream before using this concealer. Normally, I do, but when I first used it, I just forgot to put on eye cream. I set it using my Loreal True Match Powder and I wore it for approximately 5 hours and it exceeded my expectations.
Since I skipped the eye cream, I was worried thay it would settle into the fine lines under my eyes. I usually experience that whenever I use my MAC concealer even if I used an eye cream and it also tends to cake up a few hours after I applied it. Instead of looking fresh, I almost always end up looking sick after a few hours. This product still settled into the fine lines, but it didn't look as cakey as the other concealers that I used before. I was surprised that my eyebags did not look too dry even if a few hours have already passed since I applied it.
Breakouts/Allergies? Thankfully, I did not experience any breakouts or allergies after using this product. Credits to its oil-free formula.
Shade Selection. Sadly, the Fit Me Concealer is only available in 6 shades: medium, cafe, deep, fair, light and sand.
Fortunately, medium is the perfect shade for me.
If you can't find your shade, I guess you have to purchase two different shades and just mix 'em up to come up with the shade which will eventually match your skin tone.
Price and Availability. It costs Php 299 and you can find it in all Watsons branches and leading department stores. It's not that expensive since it's just a drugstore concealer.
If you will only use it to lighten your dark circles, I think this product could last you months.
Now, will I repurchase?
Of course! It's inexpensive, very easy to find and it doesn't feel heavy on the skin. I can't say that it's the best concealer in the market since it cannot cover all of my problem areas, but if you're just looking for the concealer which you can use on a daily basis, this is for you.
So, that's my review on the Maybelline Fit Me Concealer. I hope it somehow helped those who are thinking of purchasing it.
Ciao! 💋
